02-2021 |
We would like to report the first two product
plans for this year, 2021.
• First of all, we have
information about the DA converters vM DA360 and vM DA470:
For a few years, we have been working hard on these new products,
with which considerable progress was made in 2020. In fact,
already ready to start producing. However, a huge fire at the
end of October, in which the entire production plant of AKM
Japan was reduced to ashes, threw “spanner” into our food. The
result is that the converter chips we use can no longer be
supplied for many months, perhaps two years.

Since our electronics, cable and loudspeaker line is complete
and renewed, with the exception of the DACs, we have had to make
the choice to come up with two new digital to analog converters
with other chips. The choice fell on the best sounding chips
from Wolfson and Texas Instrument. These ICs will be used in
these products. Furthermore, only the most recent exclusive vM
components are used, as also used in the amplifier line.
Naturally, the DACs are equipped with the unique vM Q-link
connection and a completely new USB environment. This USB input
with very high resolution makes it possible to play DSD in
addition to PCM. Read the specifications in the vM DA360 and vM
DA470 brochures.

Second, the Van Medevoort ED7.2
electrostatic loudspeaker: Reference
loudspeaker system with electrostatic mid-high unit.
Floor standing model in line source version. Due to its
special design, this loudspeaker is very well suited to
any listening room. The model is made up of two segments,
with the low cabinet internally equipped with our
exclusive anti-resonance sub-layer system. Less
compression, a fuller bass, more openness and quietness
in the mid-range. The "high" is placed linearly next to
the "low", whereby the ESL unit is equipped with an
acoustic lens for greater dispersion and to prevent
diffraction. The loudspeakers are supplied as a matched
set with left and right model.
For example, the previous EE unit, used in the very
successful vM EE / EB and the vM EE150, had a length of
100cm, the new element in the vM ED7.2 is 125cm long.
The effective membrane width is also 50mm, so an area
increase of no less than 25%. The ESL construction
materials, the audio transformer, the high voltage unit
and the crossover filter are of course optimized for
this unique mid-high unit. This new Line-Source ESL
forms the basis for the exclusive vM ED7.2 loudspeaker
systems with dynamic low and sub-low. The applied 8 inch
low units have also been completely renewed and have a
perfect matching to the mid-high.
The attention and reviews for the Van Medevoort ED7.2
electrostatic loudspeaker have been well received and
enthusiastically assessed by our customers and press.
Our heartfelt thanks for all the comments in this.
