Description
The Van Medevoort REQ. Reference loudspeaker system with electrostatic
mid-high unit. Slimline floor standing model in line source version. Due
to its special design, this speaker fits very well in any listening
room, both in the professional studio and in a spacious living room. The
model consists of two segments, with the low cabinet internally equipped
with our exclusive anti-resonance sub-layer system. This has further
improved the 'low'. Less compression, a fuller bass, more openness and
tranquility in the midrange. The 'high' is placed phase-linear next to
the 'low', with the ESL unit fitted with an acoustic lens for greater
dispersion and to prevent diffraction. The loudspeakers are supplied as
left and right models.
Perfect reproduction quality of any genre of music playback at any

Technique
The Van Medevoort REQ. Reference line source loudspeaker system with
electrostatic mid-high unit. The model consists of two segments, where
the 'high', an electrostatic line source with a surface of 50x1250mm, is
placed phase-linear as a dipole next to the 'low'. This ESL unit,
constructed with an as open as possible stator system from acoustically
dead and resonance-free material, is fitted with an acoustic lens to
prevent diffraction and bundling. The spread is particularly large in
the horizontal plane, so that a perfect focus and placement of the
instruments in the sound image is achieved in width, depth and height.
The in-house developed and manufactured c-core audio transformer with a
high dissipation capacity, combined with a special matching network and
x-over filter, makes it possible to deliver more power to the ESL with
less distortion.
The layer cabinet has been given an optimal volume for internal
placement of the exclusive anti-resonance sub-layer system. The
low-frequency performance level has been further improved as a result.
Less compression, a fuller bass, more openness and tranquility in the
midrange. Despite its small dimensions, the 'palpable' bass reproduction
can be achieved with ease, compared to other usually much larger
loudspeakers in the same target group. The bass reproduction continues
straight to below 35 Hertz!
The placement of the low and high units is carried out 'in line', so
that phase behavior and sound image are not affected. Standing waves
vertical in the listening room are virtually eliminated, while the
dynamic efficiency is increased by about a factor of 6. With the vM REQ,
all units per loudspeaker system are manufactured, modified and prepared
in a special way to achieve maximum efficiency and lasting high sound
quality. The various electronic components for the loudspeakers are
carefully paired and matched per set, then individually tuned. The
loudspeakers are supplied as left and right models.
Due to the sophisticated width / depth ratio of the housing, as well as
the in-line mounted ESL and layer units in the front panel, excellent
focus and perfect reproduction quality of every music reproduction is
guaranteed. From pop to classical. With a view to the various specific
target groups, the slim models are very solid and mechanically strong.
Yet they have remained relatively lightweight loudspeakers that can
withstand very heavy loads not only literally, but also musically. From
soloist to large orchestra or big band.
With the vM REQ, all units per loudspeaker system are manufactured,
modified and prepared in a special way to achieve maximum efficiency and
lasting high sound quality. The various electronic components for the
loudspeakers are carefully paired and matched per set, then individually
tuned. The loudspeakers are supplied as left and right models.
With the vM REQ you have a compact, aesthetically designed high-end
reference speaker system that can reproduce any music genre at studio
quality, but is also extremely suitable as a multi-channel system in
home theaters. Available in various versions, where even any specific
